the kid katcher
[
X] listen.
-
notes:
this song started with the first sample, "we're lookin' for a guy that's been peddling dope to school children, and we had a hot tip that he was in this car" - i snagged it from an old movie in the public domain (i loooove the public domain - a huge pool of available, copyright-free raw material. unfortunately, the public domain is in danger from big corporations.). the sample gave me this idea to do a spoof about mainstream society's blanket, non-descriminate condemnation of drugs (i support responsible drug use). i remembered i had months earlier collected another sample: "ahhhhh, good day children!" i connected the two and this song became a goofy story about the proverbial "old dope peddlar" (as tom lehrer would call him).
