Billionaires behaving badly

Marc Andreessen disrespecting Stephen Hawking, the most brilliant living physicist of our time. It's possibly unclear whether his rosy utopian optimism is an actual belief he holds, or just part of the hype game of ensuring the continued up and to the right ascendancy of Silicon Valley's most darling carnivorous codebases.

Ev Williams sounding totally deeply sympathetic to the guy whose dad died when a dead tree branch broke at an Airbnb. Also being super condescending to the Imaginary Reader who should totally read this piece critical of Airbnb -- because criticism and reasoned inquiry are important -- but tut, tut: it shouldn't be too critical, else those poor sods will be turned off by it... which I have determined through my careful analysis of remaining completely, ethereally aloof from them and making decisions for them from my own superior, approaching divinity itself algorithmic head.

Elon Musk's (reported) email to an employee who missed work event to witness birth of own child:

"That is no excuse. I am extremely disappointed. You need to figure out where your priorities are. We're changing the world and changing history, and you either commit or you don’t."

It's always a strange surprise to find that highly-driven billionaires are
so mean to their staff
